CAL-MSCS Computer Science Models of Practice Summit

Join us as we share Upland Unified School District's transformative journey from a "winter" of limited computer science access to an "autumn" of equitable, standards-based CS education. Inspired by the Seasons of CS framework, our team will discuss how our district has navigated the following stages:

Winter: A time of limited CS access in our district and a lack of focus on CS standards.
Spring: A period of growth and learning, as we began to explore computer science standards and resources.
Summer: Our current phase, where we're deepening our commitment to CS for All by integrating computer science into all curricular areas.
Autumn: Our vision for a future where computer science is embedded across all grade levels, fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Discover how statewide initiatives have been instrumental in accelerating our progress towards this ambitious goal. We'll share practical strategies and insights to help you implement similar initiatives in your own district. We will also showcase our Technology Integration and Computer Science Jump Start Guide and our Educational Technology website that we have created and launched within our district, and how we are are using our Teachers on Special Assignment to support this implementation.
