About me
Roberto Núñez, Ed.D., is a K-12 Administrator and Educator, having served over 20 years as a high school, middle school, and elementary school principal. Before coming to MCOE, Dr. Núñez opened up the new Monte Bella Elementary, in the Alisal Union School District, and led the effort to make the school a California Distinguished Gold Ribbon School within the first three years of existence. He has now worked at MCOE for the past seven years, having served as the Director of Leadership Development and is now serving as the Director of Student Success, within the Innovation and Strategic Improvement team in Education Services. Dr. Núñez's expertise is in Cultural Proficiency and Transformative Leadership. His dissertation is titled “Infusing School-wide Culturally Responsive Teaching to Increase the Cultural Proficiency of Teachers”. Dr. Núñez has presented on the topics of Cultural Proficiency and Transformative Leadership throughout the last six years. He has walked the talk of being a transformative leader, advocates for students of color having more access to an 21st Century education system, closing of the achievement gap, disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline, and is ALL in for Equity.
