About me
Julie Flapan is the Co-Director of the CSforCA Coalition and also serves as the Director of the Computer Science Equity Project at UCLA Center X. Prior to that she served as the Executive Director of its founding organization, the Alliance for California Computing Education for Students and Schools (ACCESS). Funded by the National Science Foundation and based at UCLA School of Education and Information Studies, Julie coordinates statewide efforts to strengthen and broaden participation in computing education and is implementing a 5-pronged strategy to promote access and equity to computing education reform in California, specifically for girls and students of color. These strategies include a focus on 1) Policy, 2) K12 Teaching and Learning, 3) Higher Education, 4) Research and Communications and 5) Coalition Building.
