Stella Castillo has served as principal of Hillview Crest Elementary in Hayward since 2020 and brings over 29 years of experience in education. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Cal State East Bay. In the New Haven Unified School District, she has held roles including classroom teacher, Instructional Coach, District Coach for English Learners, and Assistant Principal. She helped lead the school-wide implementation of math instruction through coding and robotics in partnership with UC Davis’s C-STEM Center. At Hillview Crest, she prioritizes strong relationships, collaboration, and inclusive support for all learners.
