About me
Vanessa Lujan is Director of the Center for K-12 Science at the Lawrence Hall of Science, UC Berkeley's public science center, focused on supporting systems-level capacity-building among leaders and educators to provide equity-driven, high-quality science experiences in K-12 learning enviroments. Her research expertise includes understanding the intersection of learner ethnic and gender identities within the context of science teaching and learning contexts. Dr. Lujan has served as a panel member for the National Research Council’s "Successful STEM Education in K-12 Schools", and has experience teaching high school and undergraduate science, science curriculum development, and program leadership of a district community and family engagement program. She has a Ph.D. in Science Education from the University of Texas at Austin.
